UTHealth Houston established policies and procedures governing organizations that seek recognition by the university. To be recognized by the university the student organization must submit an application to the school Student Affairs office and be approved and registered by UTHealth Houston Student Affairs. HOOP Policy 110 Student Organizations
Students are encouraged to develop collegial relationships through the formation of organizations. Organizations formed by students of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston ("University") must follow the requirements of this policy. All student organizations are required to register their organizations annually at the institutional level through the school Student Affairs Office. HOOP Policy 165 Solicitation on Campus
No solicitation shall be conducted on the campus of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston ("University") unless permitted by this policy. The activities listed in the Permissible Solicitation Activities Guidelines shall not be deemed solicitations prohibited by this policy when conducted in accordance with this policy, with HOOP Policy 174 Speech and Assembly and with Rule 80103 of The University of Texas System Board of Regents. HOOP Policy 8 Use of the University Name, Logo or Seal
The name, logo and seal of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston ("University") and its short name, UTHealth, are registered trademarks and cannot be used unless authorized. Employees, trainees, departments, schools, and centers representing the University in an official capacity and University sponsored organizations are authorized, upon appropriate approvals, to use the name and logo in any activity that is directly in support of the University's mission areas of teaching, research, patient care or community service. This also applies to logos of each school. Use of the University’s name and logo by registered student organizations is further addressed in HOOP 110, Student Organizations. HOOP Policy 164 Minors on Campus
In accordance with The University of Texas System (“UT System”) Policy 192, the purpose of this policy is to ensure the safety of minors and compliance with laws relating to minors participating in Youth Programs (as defined below) on premises owned or controlled by The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (“University”) or sponsored or supported by a University department or unit, including Youth Programs where minors participate in a virtual learning experience. This policy is also intended to ensure the safety of minors otherwise visiting or employed by the University. For purposes of this policy, a minor is an individual under the age of 18 years. HOOP Policy 11 Use of University Facilities
No person, organization, group, association or corporation may use property or buildings owned and controlled by The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (“University”) for any purpose other than in the course of the regular programs or activities related to the role and mission of the University or in a way not authorized by The University of Texas System Board of Regents' Rules and Regulations or applicable law. Use of University grounds or facilities for the purpose of solicitation is generally prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Regents’ Rules, Series 80103 and HOOP Policy 165 Solicitation on Campus. HOOP Policy 174 Speech and Assembly
The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston ("University") supports the freedoms of speech and assembly, subject to its well-established right to regulate time, place and manner to ensure the activities do not intrude upon or interfere with its academic programs and administrative processes. Except as expressly authorized under applicable state and federal law, the Regents' Rules and Regulations and University policies, the University shall not discriminate on the basis of political, religious, philosophical, ideological or academic viewpoint expressed by any person, either in the enforcement and administration of these rules or otherwise.

HOOP Policy 186 Student Conduct and Discipline
All students are required to obey federal, state, and local laws and to comply with the University of Texas System (“UT System”) Board of Regents' Rules and Regulations, the rules and regulations of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston ("University"), and directives issued by administrative officials of the University or UT System in the course of their authorized duties. HOOP Policy 59 Sexual Misconduct
The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (“University”) is committed to maintaining a learning and working environment that is free from discrimination based on sex in accordance with Title IX of the Higher Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX), which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities; Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), which prohibits sex discrimination in employment; and the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act (SaVE Act), Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and Clery Act.
