Bridging the gap: Revolutionizing medical and dental care through a comprehensive clinic
At the Center for Health Promotion at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry, patients receive more than advanced dental care — they benefit from an innovative approach that integrates oral health with broader health services. One of the first clinics of its kind in the nation, the center addresses systemic health issues as part of routine dental visits, helping to catch health conditions that would otherwise go undetected.
Faster, smarter, better: Informatics student looks to leverage data to improve patient care
Inspired by her family and her experiences as a nurse, Lana Davis is pursuing a Doctorate in Health Informatics at the McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics at UTHealth Houston to help create a more connected health care system. With a focus on behavioral health, she’s exploring how data and technology can work together to enable earlier interventions, more personalized treatment, and better long-term outcomes.
