The Office of Development advances the mission of UTHealth Houston by seeking and securing philanthropic support for its programs in service to students and society. The office comprises four giving programs - Annual Giving, Corporate and Foundation Relations, Major and Principal Gifts, and Gift Planning.
Current Positions
- Director - Gift Planning II - UTHealth Houston is seeking a Director of Gift Planning II to advance planned and blended giving at one of the nation’s leading academic health institutions. Reporting to Senior Director of Gift Planning, and collaborating with Major Gift Officers, the Vice President of Principal Gifts, and other partners, the Director will cultivate lasting donor relationships and guide meaningful philanthropic investments. With a portfolio of about 70 major planned gift prospects and a focus on asset-based giving, the Director will lead strategies that inspire transformational commitments. This role builds on the success of the Many Faces. One Mission. campaign, which raised $534.4 million, and supports UTHealth Houston’s mission to drive innovation in education, research, and compassionate care. The Director will also expand engagement with grateful patients and steward high-value giving opportunities.
- Director of Development - UTHealth Houston is seeking a Director of Development develop strategy and solicits major gifts from individuals and occasionally from firms, corporations, and foundations. Identifies, cultivates, and manages a large pool of prospective donors and qualifies leads.
- Leadership Giving Assistant Director - The Leadership Giving Assistant Director works with new or existing donors, or with individuals qualified by prospect research, to establish or strengthen an individual's relationship with UTHealth Houston through suitable engagement and stewardship activities. This role also involves discovering areas of interest and securing commitments in the $1,000-$99,000 range. Develops effective internal and external partnerships to expand the donor base with the ultimate objective of growing the major gift donor pipeline through upgrades. Working collaboratively with development colleagues, prospect researchers, faculty, and volunteers, the Assistant Director helps identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors who give $1,000 or more annually (or as determined by prospect research)— supporting the pipeline of future major gift prospects and ensuring long-term philanthropic success.
