  • Adult Protective Services (APS)

    APS investigates abuse, neglect, and exploitation of adults who are elderly or have disabilities and who live in the community. Any adult who has a disability or who is age 65 or older that is in a state of abuse, neglect, or exploitation may be eligible to receive adult protective services.

    Victims of abuse, neglect, or exploitation may get short-term help with shelter, home repairs, food, transportation, managing money, medical care, home healthcare services, and mental health services.

  • Amazing Place

    Amazing Place is a day center for adults with mild to moderate dementia. They offer a dementia day program, caregiver support and community education.

  • CarePartners

    To provide care, education, and support to older adults, including those with dementia, and their family caregivers.

  • Harris Health Cares

    Harris Health Cares is a community resource finder available to support patients' and their families' whole health with low cost to free resources near you.  Examples of available resources include food, housing, transportation, and utility assistance programs.

  • Harris Health's House Call Service

    Harris Health's House Call Service is a program in collaboration with medical partners from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) and Baylor College of Medicine that  provides patients with high-quality, compassionate primary medical care and palliative care in the comfort of their home.

  • Harris County Project Lifesaver

    A program for individuals with cognitive disabilities such as autism, dementia, Alzheimer's, or traumatic brain injury who have a history of wandering from home. The Harris County Sheriff's Office program is a collaboration with Project Lifesaver International (PLI), a non-profit that was established in 1999 that locates individuals gone wandering. PLI is widely used throughout the United States.

  • Texas Suicide Prevention Collaborative

    The Texas Suicide Prevention Collaborative (TxSPC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Texas communities in their efforts to build suicide prevention capacity. We do this by promoting the use of evidence-based best practices that encourage the public health approach to suicide prevention. By connecting Texas communities through local coalitions and other stakeholder groups, we can build and use vital resources more effectively and in a coordinated way across our state. Because TxSPC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, all donations to TxSPC are tax-exempt, and we comply with all 501(c)(3) rules and regulations.

  • UTHealth Houston Trauma and Resilience Center

    The UTHealth Houston Trauma and Resilience Center (TRC) is a multidisciplinary treatment, research, and education center devoted to helping people who are experiencing psychological problems in the aftermath of traumatic life experiences. We offer home-telemedicine, evidence-based, trauma-focused care for patients struggling with complex trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and trauma-related behavioral health conditions. Our team of expert clinicians and staff serve veterans and their families, first responders and their families, elder abuse and domestic violence survivors, and people impacted by disasters, severe accidents and other traumatic events directly in their homes via telemedicine on your computer, phone, tablet or other device.
