I have a Master's (2013) in Agricultural Biochemistry, and a PhD (2017) in Applied Biochemistry, both from the Federal University of Vicosa, Brazil. Subsequently, I joined the Federal University of Sao Paulo, Brazil (2017-2022), and most recently The UTHealth Houston, both positions as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Throughout my career I have been conducting research in areas such as cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry, and parasitology, learning and clarifying how different environments affect signaling pathways and interactions between different proteins, and from different organisms.
Education
PhD, Federal University of Vicosa, 2017
Bachelor of Biological Sciences, Federal University of Paraiba, 2011
Research
Researching the molecular mechanisms of mitosis and cytokinesis in procyclic forms of Trypanosoma brucei. The current focus is on the cell cycle regulatory machinery, identifying essential proteins, and accessing its functions, localizations and partners.
