
Mylene Terranova Duarte
Mylene Terranova Duarte is a licensed professional counselor and therapist at the UTHealth Houston Center for Eating Disorders. She received her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of St. Thomas and a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Houston-Downtown. Terranova Duarte focused her practicums on adolescents, interning at a Monte Nido residential facility for adolescents with eating disorders and at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory as a school counselor focused on mental health.
Terranova Duarte has worked in residential care, partial hospitalization programs, and intensive outpatient programs through The Meadows and Monte Nido. She has experience providing group, individual, and family therapy, as well as supported exposures. She focuses on evidence-based care for a range of mental health concerns, with special interest in treating eating disorders, self-esteem and body image issues, trauma, anxiety disorders, and depression.
