Victor Mendoza is a licensed master social worker and therapist at the UTHealth Houston Center for Eating Disorders. He received his Master of Social Work from Wayne State University, where he specialized in interpersonal practice. Mendoza completed a fellowship at the OCD Institute of Texas, where he was trained to assess and treat OCD, anxiety, and depression. While there, he provided therapy for patients across the residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care. He worked previously at the John D. Dingell Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, the Victim’s Assistance Program, Gesher Human Services/Detroit at Work, the Kalamazoo Probation Enhancement Program, and the Children’s Hospital of Michigan.

Mendoza specializes in cognitive behavioral therapies for a broad range of concerns, with particular interest in treating eating disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and depression. He strictly adheres to evidence-based treatments including Maudsley family-based treatment, enhanced cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention, dialectical behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy.
