Neurosurgery Research Seminar – Dr. Yubin Zhou (Bioengineering for Therapeutics)

Event Description

Dr. Yubin Zhou will present a seminar titled “Protein engineering for immunomodulation.” This talk will discuss how optogenetics, chemogenetics, nanotechnology, and immunoengineering are integrated to develop synthetic biology tools for the immune system, including programmable cell therapies and biologics. These approaches may deepen mechanistic understanding of cellular physiology and support new therapies for inflammatory disorders, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Zhou is Professor and Director of the Center for Translational Cancer Research at Texas A&M University. He serves as an NIH study section member and has made broad contributions to the development of innovative bioengineering platforms.
