Our goal is to provide informatics and IT solutions to researchers, handling technical and regulatory requirements so that researchers can focus on what they do best. Some of our specific areas of focus include:
Enhanced Subject Recruiting
Identifying subjects for study inclusion is often a time consuming task. BiG can expedite this process through our Enhanced Subject Recruiting protocol. Researchers will work with BiG to create queries taking into account basic inclusion / exclusion criteria for studies to pre-screen patients of interest. These queries are then used to create weekly reports identifying the times and locations of the appointments for these pre-screen patients, allowing researchers to identify where their recruitment efforts will be best spent.
Centralized Access to Clinical Data
Recognizing that computer access to various health information systems is vital to the operation of administrative, research, patient care and academic offices and personnel, and that the information contained within the systems is governed by federal regulations, individuals desiring access to CCTS health information systems and the health information contained within them must comply with specific requirements. The CCTS BMI group has developed the Data Access Procedure which provides Principal Investigators with a step-by-step approach to gaining access to clinical data in accordance with federal regulations. Further, the Procedure also provides basic guidelines for ensuring continued compliance in the use, storage and disposal of PHI data provided for research purposes.
BIGTxt
BIGTxt is a web-based application which provides an interface to a commercially available texting system which provides the capability to send and receive text messages to a target audience. Messages can be sent real time or scheduled to be sent at specific dates and times. Recipients can respond to received messages. All messages, outgoing and incoming are logged for review by the Study PI
