International Travel Mandates
As of April 10, 2010, all students, faculty, and staff traveling internationally on university related business or sponsored projects are required to register their trip details with International SOS prior to travel.
Before arranging international travel, a traveler must read the International Travel Procedures for UTHealth Faculty, Staff and Students (found on the webpage of the Office of the Executive Vice President for Academic and Research Development at http://www.uth.tmc.edu/travel/). If the destination is under a U.S. Department of State Travel Warning, the traveler must submit an online Application for Exemption to be reviewed by the President’s Advisory Panel on International Travel. Federal Travel-Fly America for International Travel
Any travel funded by Federal grants or restricted State funds must comply with the requirement that U.S. Flagship carriers be used to maximum extent possible when commercial air transportation is the means of travel between the U.S. and a foreign country, or between foreign countries. This requirement shall not be influenced by factors of cost, convenience, or personal travel preferences. For purpose of the use of United States flab carriers, "Unites States" means the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the territories and possessions of the United States.
