Job Summary: The School of Biomedical Informatics (SBMI) at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) has multiple non-tenure track, soft money positions at the assistant professor level. UTHealth is in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center (TMC) located in cosmopolitan Houston, Texas, the fourth largest city in the United States. SBMI currently offers Master's and Ph.D. Degrees, along with a certificate program in biomedical and health informatics.
Additional Summary Specific to Job:
- QUALIFICATIONS: The individual should possess a doctoral degree in biomedical informatics, computer science, cognitive science, nursing, graphic design, or related disciplines. A record of published research and potential for obtaining extramural funding are preferred.
- RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research and development activities related to the mission of SBMI, pursue an active, funded research program, and participate in teaching activities in the School of Biomedical Informatics at the graduate level. Collaborative research with other faculty in the school and across UTHealth and TMC is expected.
- SALARY: Competitive and dependent upon qualifications and experience.
- APPOINTMENT/BENEFITS: This position is a 12-month appointment in the non-tenure track. Based on research productivity, opportunities exist for transferring to the tenure-track.
