Today I'm pleased to announce the promotion of Kevin Dillon to the new position of Executive Vice President, Administration & Business Affairs, and Chief Financial Officer. This title reflects the further broadening of his role for us at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Kevin continues to lead our important financial and accounting functions, represented by his previous title of Executive Vice President for Finance & Administration and Chief Financial Officer. This new position recognizes his expanded accountabilities into strategic planning, business development, organizational policy matters, and key administrative and business processes (including facilities, information technology, auxiliary enterprises, and human resources).
Kevin has worked for the UT Health Science Center for eleven years, the last six helping me and our other senior leaders manage the complex administrative and business functions of this $750 million organization. Over these years, I've been impressed with his judgment, work ethic and commitment to excellence. He has come to be one of my closest advisors. I'm pleased that he will continue to work with us in this new, expanded role, as we confront the opportunities and challenges before us.
