Dr. Barrett Harvey earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003.  He joined Merck Research Laboratories in 2004 as a Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Vaccines and Biologics.  In 2007 he was recruited by the Institute of Molecular Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and appointed Assistant Professor of Molecular Medicine.  His current research interests focus on design and development of recombinant antibodies and biologics as they relate to therapeutic, diagnostic and basic research needs.  To this end, the laboratory ventures into a number of diverse biological fields from infectious disease to oncology.
