Genetic Counseling
The University of Texas Genetic Counseling Program (UT GCP) is the only genetic counseling program in the state of Texas and one of thirty-one genetic counseling programs across the United States accredited by the American Board of Genetic Counseling.
What sets us apart from other genetic counseling programs? The strengths of the UT GCP are:
- Depth, breadth and cultural diversity of patients accessed by our location in the nation's largest medical center, the Texas Medical Center, including affiliations with the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and Baylor College of Medicine, that are all located within one mile of each other
- Extensive network of world renowned faculty who are dedicated to teaching and mentoring genetic counseling students
- Curriculum that balances a strong foundation in the hard sciences with extensive psychosocial coursework and clinical training
- Educational value demonstrated by reasonable tuition rates, scholarship opportunities, and participation in the Academic Common Market for the Southern Regional Educational Board
