- Applicants are Admitted to GSBS, not any specific Program or Department – students have the opportunity to perform the 3 required tutorial rotations in labs of their choice. This provides the opportunity to “test the waters” and develop new research interests prior to identifying a research area for the dissertation
- Choice of Programs -- students can affiliate with one of the 16 Programs of Study or develop their own tailor-made course of study
- Minimal Course Requirements -- the Area Course Requirements are designed to give students a basic understanding of the four major areas of biomedical science and can usually be completed in the first year of study
