The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS) offers M.S., Ph.D., and M.D./Ph.D. training. Students are admitted directly to the GSBS and Ph.D. students have one year to affiliate with one of our 12 Programs.
The faculty are drawn from the Medical, Dental, Public Health, and Health Information Sciences Schools of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and the Texas A&M University Institute of Biosciences and Technology. GSBS training programs and faculty research support are highly ranked on the national level.
The GSBS has a unique organization in which faculty form inter-institutional training Programs based upon common research interests. All Programs offer the breadth and depth of training required for a successful career in modern biomedical science. The M.S. and Ph.D. degrees require a minimum of 30 and 54 hours, respectively, of pertinent coursework.
