Department of Biostatistics
Research Interests:
- Computational statistics and biostatistics
- Statistical genetics
- Non- parametric statistical methods
Non-parametric statistical methods and decision trees; multivariate statistical methods such as principal components and clustering methods with application to data curves and DNA microarray gene expression; variance components methods in twin and family studies.
A student in my laboratory would be required to have strong interest and background in biostatistics and computing. Students will learn a plethora of modern computer, intensive statistical methods in analyzing real complex data that arises from medical and relevant laboratory research. A student may choose to focus on one or all of the following areas: data analysis; computer simulations; or statistical methodology development.
