- Molecular biology
The intent of my research is to use molecular techniques to study the epidemiology, virulence, or antibiotic resistance of clinically relevant pathogens including Enterococci, Group B streptococci, Staphylococcus aureus, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Methods which will have a direct impact on the diagnosis or determination of antibiotic susceptibility of organisms in the hospital microbiology laboratory will be emphasized.
