Upcoming Deadlines
- October 1 – GSBS doctoral candidates whose research is in either Alzheimer’s or cardiovascular disease are invited to submit an application for the Harry S. & Isabel C. Cameron Foundation Fellowship ($15,000). Application instructions are found here. Deadline for applications is 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2010.
- October 5 – Applications for the R.W. Butcher Award ($3,000) are due by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5. This award recognizes a GSBS degree seeking (M.S. or Ph.D. or M.S./Ph.D.) student who demonstrates excellence and promise in biomedical research as well as contributions to community (GSBS, Houston). - October 6 – The GSBS requests applications for the City Federation of Women’s Clubs Endowed Scholarship in the Biomedical Sciences ($2,500) from doctoral students who recently passed their candidacy exam and are doing research in biomedical imaging. The deadline for applications is 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, October, 6, 2010. More information and instructions can be found here.
- September 7 - Applications for Innovation in Health Science Education Awards (totaling $15,000) and the Health Science Education Small Grants Program are due without exception on Tuesday, 5:00 p.m., September 7, 2010. Individuals or projects that demonstrate a direct, measurable and positive impact on health science education will be most competitive for these awards. Click here and here for more details.

- September 15 - The annual Medical School Dean’s Research Scholarship Awards and Welcoming Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 1:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m. in the Art Gallery in MSB, Suite 500, 6431 Fannin. - October 4-November 11- The MDACC Department of Scientific Publications is pleased to announce Session 6 of the Scientific English Program for Non-native Speakers of English, beginning on October 4 and ending on November 11.
