GS210073 Biomaterials: Concepts and Practice I

Taylor, S. Ray, Ph.D.. Three semester hours. Fall annually. Prerequisite: None.

This course introduces the student to the field of biomaterials and teaches the “why” and “how” of materials behavior.  In this course, the student will develop a cohesive understanding of (1) the relationship between material structure and properties, (2) the effect of processing history on structure student, and (3) how properties affect performance.

The structure-property-performance concepts in the lectures in DBPG XXX1 will be reinforced through laboratory experiments performed by the students, demonstrations, case studies, and student presentations.
