Visual Science I is a comprehensive introduction to Visual Neuroscience and the first steps in Vision. We will discuss the anatomy, physiology and pharmacology of retinal function. Topics will include color vision, neurotransmitters, receptors, ion channels, rod and cone pathways and adaptation. The course will emphasize phototransduction and retinal circuitry.
