Krasnykh, Viktor (Coordinator) and Ji, Lin (Co-coordinator). Three semester hours. Spring annually. Prerequisite: a basic knowledge of cell biology and molecular biology will be expected; consent of instructor.

This course is intended to provide a state-of-the-art survey of the basic science and technology of gene therapy. Examples of both pre-clinical research and clinical trials will be presented. In addition, pertinent ethical, regulatory, intellectual property and industrial perspectives associated with the development of gene therapeutics will be examined.
