Giving to GSBS

What better way than by a gift to support, encourage and reward students who will become the scientists of tomorrow – our knowledge generators of the future.
These outstanding individuals are the very ones who will find the cure to cancer, put an end to diabetes, find the genetic means of controlling heart disease, solve the mystery of Alzheimer's, and discover the pharmaceutical therapy that helps give a child normal brain function.
In addition to giving for any purpose including the categories below by cash or check, the Graduate School welcomes your gifts to the following accounts through your credit card:
The George M. Stancel, Ph.D. Fellowship in the Biomedical Sciences
In 2011 the GSBS Advisory Council created the George M. Stancel, Ph.D. Fellowship in the Biomedical Sciences to honor Dr. Stancel’s years of outstanding service as dean of the School.
Through a competitive process, the fellowship will provide awards to exceptional graduate students on the basis of academic merit in the most promising area of research for any given year as determined by the GSBS Deans.
Dean's Excellence Fund
Serves as a discretionary fund that provides for supplemental merit scholarships to recruit outstanding students, a summer undergraduate research program, career development, and other needed programs for which Students funds cannot be used.
Student Assistance Fund
This fund provides for special anniversary scholarships, bridging support for students when their mentors experience a lapse in funding and other important emergency needs of individual students.
Investing in Student Futures

Investing in student futures

Established by Dr. Priscilla Saunders in memory of her husband Grady Saunders, a wonderful scientist and mentor to graduate students, this endowment is a repository for both large and small gifts either "in memory" or "in honor of" to suit individual wishes. The ultimate hope is that it will grow to generate a full student stipend annually. Your "investment" goes, of course, towards one of the very best causes around—training future generations of scientists.

The students whose lives you touch with your help are the very students charged with the quest to find solutions to our most critical health concerns.
While over 50 GSBS student award winners receive monetary award recognition, there are many other exemplary students in a vast number of biomedical sciences areas whose work is waiting to be awarded WHEN FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE. WE COUNT ON YOU!
To play a part in increasing this support you may help in several ways:
Linda CarterAll gifts at any scale and to any category will be acknowledged, are tax deductible, maybe accomplished through an estate or will, may be matched by a corporation to enhance the value of your gift, may be used for memorial gifts to honor a favorite faculty, family member or friend with a notice sent to inform the family of the honor (not the amount) of your gift.
Checks made out to "UT-GSBS" should be mailed to the following address:
