Investigator Briefing in the Responsible Conduct of Research
The Office of Academic and Research Affairs has prepared briefing materials to help you understand institutional, University of Texas System, and federal policies and requirements related to the responsible conduct of research.
HOOP Policy 95 Research Training states that "All university employees who serve as PIs on sponsored projects must complete training on research compliance and regulatory issues (Investigator Responsibility Briefing)." These briefings are required every three years, per current policy, and are separate from other online compliance training offerings related to conflicts of interest, human subjects research, and animal research.
At UTHealth our premise is that investigators appreciate and respect the need for the responsible conduct of research and want to conduct their investigations in such a manner. Consequently, the primary purpose of the review material is twofold: (1) to help our investigators understand their responsibilities, and (2) to provide information and sources of support to assist them.
Please contact Deanne Hernandez for access to the online briefing materials necessary to complete this training.
