Unveiling at IMM

University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston President Larry Kaiser, M.D., poses with Irma Gigli, M.D., IMM deputy director emeritus of The Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine for the Prevention of Human Diseases (IMM), at the unveiling of the Hans J. Mueller-Eberhard and Irma Gigili Center for Immunology and Autoimmune Diseases at the IMM. Gigli and her late husband, Mueller-Eberhard, were among the first researchers to found the IMM in the mid-1990s.

Agreement with Panama Signed

UT Health Science Center at Houston President Larry R. Kaiser, M.D., and His Excellency Ricardo Alberto Martinelli, president of the Republic of Panama, add their signatures to an agreement of cooperation between The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and the University of Panama at the signing ceremony on Oct. 27. The agreement will promote institutional exchanges of faculty, students and information.

Michelle and Lorne Bain Gift Celebrated

On Oct. 12, C. Thomas Caskey, M.D., IMM director and CEO, right, joined Michelle and Lorne Bain, center, to celebrate their investment in the progress of The Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine for the Prevention of Human Diseases (IMM) with the formal dedication of the Michelle and Lorne Bain Patio Terrace at the Fayez S. Sarofim Research Building, home to the IMM. Irma Gigli, M.D., IMM deputy director emeritus, right, recalled how vital a component the patio terrace was to the building design process and how valuable it is to the IMM community of scholars and staff. Michelle and Lorne said they are very happy that this beautiful and useful component of the IMM will be a lasting resource for its investigators.
