UT Health Science Center Development Board Welcomes Members

Richard G. “Wick” Alexander, D.D.S. is the owner of Drs. Alexander Orthodontics, Inc., in Arlington, Texas. He is a clinical professor in the Orthodontic Department of Texas A&M Health Science Center’s Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, a position he has held for almost 40 years. He also is a clinical professor at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Dental Branch and is the president of the Alexander Foundation for Orthodontic Research and Education. He is married to Janna D. Alexander.

Patsy Fourticq is a member of the M.D. Anderson Board of Visitors and on the advisory board of the AIDS Foundation Houston. In 2002, she was named a Woman of Vision by the Delta Gamma Foundation. She spent many years as a member of the board of the local chapter of the March of Dimes, where they created the Patsy Fourticq Award of Triumph in honor of her years on the board. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Greg Fourticq.

Dick Hite is the principal co-owner of the family-owned Norton Ditto Clothiers, one of the few such retailers left in Houston. He was a co-founder of Save Our ERs benefiting Houston-area emergency rooms. He is the chair of the Health Science Center’s 16th Annual Student Scholarship Golf Tournament at Bay Oaks Country Club. He is married to Rose Virginia “Ginger” Hite.

J. Downey Bridgwater is the chairman, president and chief executive officer of Sterling Bancshares, Inc. He is on the board of directors at the Alley Theater, BioHouston, The Houston Forum, University of St. Thomas and the University of Houston Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He serves on the advisory board of Houston Children’s Charity. His wife, Kerri Bridgwater, is an attorney and is the vice president and general counsel of Bridgwater Oil Corporation, a petroleum products company.

Julius Glickman is the managing partner of Glickman & Hughes, L.L.P. He serves on the board of Humanities Texas and is past chair of the UT Austin Development Board and UT System Chancellor’s Council. He is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas Law School. He is married to Suzan Glickman.

Stephen Schwartz, D.D.S., is a UT Dental Branch alumnus (1968 and 1970). He is leading the fund-raising initiative to build a new school equipped and staffed for the new role of dentistry in the 21st century. Schwartz has been a recipient of the Texas Dentist of the Year Award and maintains a private practice in Houston. He is currently serving as first vice president of the American Dental Association and recently received the Edgar D. Coolidge Award, the highest award bestowed by the American Association of Endodontists.

Charles Sheedy is a senior vice president at Fayez Sarofim & Co. and a member of the firm’s Investment Committee, and he oversees Sarofim Realty Advisors. He is president of The Sheedy Foundation and a member of the University of Notre Dame’s Arts & Letters Advisory Council. He is married to Ellen G. Sheedy.
