School of Nursing Celebrates 35 Years
Nina Villagomez, Ph.D., B.S.N., M.S.N., R.N., presents Dorothy Otto, Ed.D., R.N., with a framed certificate commemorating a contribution by faculty and staff contributed to the Dorothy Otto Professionalism in Nursing Award Endowment as well as the gift of a couch and ottoman for Otto’s office.
Dorothy Otto, Ed.D., R.N., right, greets the first UT School of Nursing Dean Elizabeth Jones Snyder, Ph.D., M.S.N., B.S.N., R.N., with open arms at the Sept. 7 anniversary event. Otto has been a professor at the school of nursing since it began 35 years ago.
Classmates Patricia “Trissy” Isom and Chris Gray look at a scrapbook and share memories of their experiences as members of the first graduating class of the school of nursing. Gray attended the event with his wife, Linda, also a member of SON Class of 1974.
