Mehmet Oz to Speak at PARTNERS Luncheon

Mehmet Oz, M.D.

Mehmet Oz, M.D., co-author of the bestselling book YOU: The Owner's Manual, will be the featured speaker at the 2007 Annual Spring Luncheon for PARTNERS, the community support group for The University of Texas School of Nursing at Houston. The event, which benefits the nursing school, begins with registration at 11:30 a.m. and the luncheon at noon-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, at the Hilton Americas Hotel, 1600 Lamar St.

Oz is professor and vice-chairman of surgery at Columbia University, as well as medical director of the Integrated Medicine Center and director of the Heart Institute at New York Presbyterian/Columbia Medical Center. He is a chief medical consultant to Discovery Communications and has appeared numerous times on network television.

Established in 1994, PARTNERS provides scholarships to nursing students and grant awards for faculty research.
