Medical Student Named to UT Board of Regents

R. Matthew Camarillo

R. Matthew Camarillo of Houston, a third-year student at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, has been named the Student Regent for The University of Texas System Board of Regents by Gov. Rick Perry. His term runs through February 2008.

Camarillo said he was extremely honored to have been selected as the Student Regent and expressed his gratitude to the UT Health Science Center at Houston's Student InterCouncil and UT System Chancellor Mark Yudof for their part in the nomination process. He received his bachelor's degree in chemistry and kinesiology from UT Austin.
