University Councils Home
The executive leadership at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston is supported by a series of councils which focus their expertise and collective wisdom on three university mission areas: education, research, and patient care along with three infrastructure councils: institutional relations, administration and information technology.
Councils are composed of faculty and administration leaders with representatives from the student, classified staff and faculty councils as appropriate. Advisory councils and standing or other committees provide important input to the six councils and provide a means for information to flow throughout the campus.
This council system will allow Information and decision making to flow in two main directions; from the executive council to the faculty, students and staff; and, from the project teams and affiliate councils through to the executive council. This dynamic flow of information and decision making will ensure better communication and broader empowerment opportunities throughout the university.
