Parent’s Corner
The UTHealth Child Development Center professional teaching team provides quality early childcare and education. We support families, shares information and resources to make a positive difference in the lives of children to support the teaching, research and service mission of the University. We are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools (SACS).
Our program is designed to encourage and support the development of each child by providing opportunities for self-exploration and discovery. Children are naturally active and curious, so our objective is to promote a learning experience that will stimulate creative learning. The cognitive, social, emotional, physical and creative development of the child is always considered and planned for through a variety of activities. Our goal is to discover the individual requirements of the children in our program and successfully fulfill their needs. Developing a child’s positive self-image is a priority and essential to our program.
We think the parents’ involvement in the child’s day is essential and encourage parents to make every effort to stay informed with what is happening at the Center. Whether you are new to the Child Care Program or have been enrolled for a while, we welcome you to spend time with us. Visiting will help both you and your child feel comfortable and connected. If you would like to come for lunch, let us know. Please feel free to share your child's classroom with a special family food, what you do at work, or playing a musical instrument. The teaching staff can guide you in choosing ideas that are developmentally appropriate for your child's age group.
