President's Scholar Award
The President's Scholar Awards are intended to recognize distinguished achievements accomplished primarily at UTHealth by a faculty member with strong ties to UTHealth. All faculty at UTHealth are eligible and nominees are usually full-time faculty members.
Nomination documentation required (please submit electronically):
- A detailed statement of the nature and importance of the accomplishments to be recognized;
- A complete curriculum vitae with bibliography;
- A minimum of two recommendation letters from individuals (e.g., students, former students, colleagues, etc.) from within UTHealth; and
- Other support as deemed useful
Examples of criteria for selection of the President's Scholar Awardees include:
President's Scholar Award for Teaching
- Extent of teaching activities;
- Published works in teaching;
- Enthusiasm;
- Innovation;
- Stimulation as evidenced by supporting materials;
- Teaching related mentoring activities;
- Peer and student recognition;
- Teaching related presentation materials; and
- Other pertinent teaching activities
President's Scholar Award for Research
- Extent of research activities;
- Research quality and importance;
- Productivity;
- Peer recognition;
- Contributions while at UTHealth; and
- Other pertinent research activities
